Diamond burs (also known as emery burs) are widely used in dental preparation. Before use, inspect the bur for cracks or loose grit and clamp it firmly on the handpiece. Keep the bur rotating steadily at the recommended speed, apply light and intermittent pressure instead of heavy continuous force. Use water cooling throughout the procedure to avoid thermal damage to tooth pulp and prevent debris accumulation.
Do not bend, drop or collide the bur. Stop using it once diamond grains fall off or the tip is worn. After use, clean, disinfect and dry it properly for storage. Wear protective goggles and masks during operation to avoid injury from flying debris.
